Unnscrupulous operators who know how to abuse the system can substitute their own Clickbank Affiliate Nickname for yours at the point in the payment process where Clickbank decides who gets paid the commission.
But it's easy to stop the thieves... if you know how!
Read any eBook on making money online or starting an online business and you are sure to come to the part where they recommend getting a Clickbank account and promoting products as an affiliate.
It's a great way to start your online business and an easy way to learn the ropes of internet marketing.
But There's A Clickbank Problem.
- After you've slaved over a hot keyboard, writing articles, posting blogs and getting your affiliate link in front of your customers, your hard earned reward could go to someone else!!!
There are ways to disguise your hoplink to make it more difficult for the thieves. - You could go to a site like TinyURL and get a re-direct from them.
- You could set up your own PHP redirect.
- You could put up a re-directing HTML page on your own site.
But recently Clickbank have introduced a new feature called
It's a clever bit of software that will encode your hoplink for you so that no-one can substitute their affiliate nickname for yours, protecting you from having your ClickBank Commissions stolen.
From the ClickBank home page go to Promote Products, then find the link to
Hoplink Sheild in the lower right-hand corner.
All you have to do is
enter your affiliate nickname and the vendor's nickname, click on the encode
button, highlight and copy the encoded hoplink produced and use that encoded URL
instead of the old un-encoded one.
It's a simple but effective system
for making sure you get the commissions you deserve, and a long overdue addition
to ClickBank's affiliate tools.
